As a leader in the pod market, Orangebox continues to review and evaluate its offerings. During a recent review of the Air3 line, we looked at opportunities to improve its functionality. A change that came from the review is a redesign of Air3's air circulation system. In order to improve the refresh rate within the pod, we redesigned the cowls that attach to the fan and reside on top of the horizontal hoop. The redesign also requires we turned the fan 180 degrees to extract air out of the pod versus blowing the ambient air into the pod as it was designed to do since its introduction to the US market. The result of these changes have lead to an increase in air exchanges per hour within the pod, but also a change in the installation process. Attached below is an modification to Step 6 in the Installation Videos and also pages 24-26 and 39 of the written installation instructions applicable to the Air 23,25,and 27.
Key Points of the Installation Changes
- Turning the fan 180 degrees (intake faces switch side, exhaust faces power side)
- Two new new cowls
- New Actuator Covers
- Adding ducting to the inside of the horizontal hoop
